University of Rouen Laboratory Announces Completion of Second Generation Synthetic AFGP

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 11, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Dr. Geraldine Deliencourt, of the University of Rouen, has informed ProtoKinetix (OTCBB:PKTX) that their laboratory has completed the engineering of the dimeric class of the synthetic AFGP molecule. A dimeric molecule is constructed in such a way as to provide two active sites thus enhancing the characteristics of the native molecule. Native AFGP has been proven to be a natural source of cellular and tissue antifreeze. Extensive tests around the world have proven this molecule to be a highly effective agent in the preservation of sensitive human cells.

ProtoKinetix has successfully tested the monomeric synthetic AFGP on a wide range of human cells and tissue lines for stability, toxicity and efficacy.
